Last Saturday morning. 7AM.

Phone rings.

Dad: “Hospital. Room 308.”

Pancreatic failure due to bad habits.

I left it all behind. Because family first.

LinkedIn. Emails. Work. Community. All come secondary at that moment.

He’s fine. And all is well. A big lesson for his past decisions.

Did the world end? Nope.

But in fact, when it came to paying the hospital bill.

I did it with my eyes closed.

Only to come back to over 10+ notifications. 7 power hours booked. 3 digital products sold. 1 renewal paid from students.

I wipe tears of joy and gratitude. My Modern Makers did it for me. I love you.

"Dad, I'll get you that farm land you want by 2024".

And it'll be a Modern Maker farm. As you help me achieve this goal daily. I thank you.

That’s a huge lesson on leverage.

A well oiled machine gives no matter where you are.

You’re still “there” without being “there”.

And you focus on what matters.

For 6 months, I collected emails using this lead magnet on ConvertKit.

Then I created a few more (reply to this email and I can send you all of them).

I took this text.

And pasted it under every LinkedIn post I carved. In turn, got people to subscribe in exchange for some value.

Once the well dried up I had these alterations getting people to the newsletter.

I wasn’t ready to start. But I still got people onboard. When I finally hit play, I had a community to write to.

There are many ways you can do this. But this is the simplest.

Remember. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
